The word “recession” means nothing to these two guys. Albert Haynesworth and DeAnglo Hall signed major deals yesterday to make Washington their home for the next several years. Haynesworth $100 million dollar deal is officially one of the richest deals in the National Football League. He is expected to make right at $32 million dollars over the next 13 months. As for the 25 year old Hall, this becomes his second big payday, inking a $54 million dollar contract with $22.5 million in guarantees.

Texas Tech highly regarded wide receiver Michael Crabtree addressed the media at the 2009 NFL combine about his foot injury. Crabtree played the entire season with this injured foot and still put up decent numbers. He will work out for the scouts before he has surgery. Doctors mentioned that the healing process would take 10 weeks or so until the foot is completely healed. BIG EAST Showdown!

DeJuan Blair from Pitt was just to much this game for Hasheem Thabeet of UConn. Blair totally took control of every UConn big man they had. Scoring 22 point and grabbing 23 rebounds, Blair gave every NBA scout a great look and something to think about when draft time rolls around. As for Thabeet, he just didn’t look comfortable and strong enough to compete against Blair. There’s still no doubt in my mind that Thabeet is still the second best player in the country behind Griffin from OU. Thabeet’s main focus when entering this year’s draft is to hit the weights hard and gain 15 to 20 pounds to compete in the NBA.

Let’s set the record straight on this topic. Alex Rodriguez, came out publicly and admitted that he took steroids back in 2003 when he was with the Rangers. Bud Selig mentioned, “that there is no valid excuse for using banned substances, and those who used them have shamed the game.” Well, Mr. Selig what about you and your leadership during the time this was going on. There has been a number of Hall of Fame guys that have been called out regarding steroids and most of it happened on Mr. Selig watch as Commissioner. Read more
Todd Haley takes over the Chiefs

With a crazy playoff run with the Arizona Cardinals. Todd Haley is the chosen one for the Kansas City Chiefs organization. Like Obama, Todd walks into a ton of problems with the ball club that he is now responsible for. The Chiefs went 2-14 under Herm Edwards as head coach and haven’t made the playoffs since 1994. I think this might be a good fit for Haley and the Chiefs, especially after everything Haley went through with Anquan Boldin on the sidelines…lol.

The New York stars were out at Madison Square Garden last night to watch Kobe Bryant and the Lakers and NOT the Knicks. Kobe took over the spotlight as usual when he goes to big cities like NYC. With no help from his young big man Andrew Bynum. Kobe put the Lakers on his back and said, “roll with me,” as they defeated the Knicks 126 to 117. The Garden’s record book was broken last night with 61 points by the electrifying Kobe Bryant. He officially passed Micheal Jordan(55) and Bernard King(60) with the most points scored in the Garden.
