Champions Once Again

June 15, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment

Once again the trophy heads back to the sunshine state. Bryant and the LA Lakers took care of business and defeated the D. Howard and the Orlando Magic 4 games to 1 in the NBA Finals. Kobe and Derek Fisher capitalized on their fourth NBA championship ring, making them 2 out of 4 active players with four titles. On a personal note for Kobe, the monkey is officially off is back. The word on the street was that Kobe couldn’t win a NBA title without O’Neal. For all you haters out there in the world of sports, what do you have to say now about the kid. As for Phil Jackson, he has proven to the NBA Gods that he is the best NBA coach of all times with 10 NBA coaching titles. Sorry Red.

KING JAMES IS BACK!

Once again it’s on. King James has another opportunity to take his team, his organization and his city back to the NBA Finals. D. Howard and the Magic have had LeBron and the Cavielars on their to do list for awhile. Expect, this series to go to seven. The Cavs role players will be the difference makes in this series. Alston, is now on the main stage. Let’s see how this New York guy handles the playoff pressure.

The Celtics win in Game 5 against the Magic was huge. With 6 minutes left in the fourth quarter the Celtics proved why they are still the team to beat. Mr. Marbury was the game changer down the stretch with double digit points. Boston went from an 85-75 deficit to an 88-85 lead on a 13-0 run in the fourth quarter.  Game 6 heads back to Orlando.

The Playoffs Are Here

What a game Tuesday night against the Trailblazers and Rockets! The battle was on. The Trailblazer’s fought their hearts out to get their first playoff win in six years. The closer Brandon Roy, point guard of the Portland Trailblazers led the team with 42 points. While LaMarus Aldridge assisted with 27 points and 12 rebounds. The game simply went back and forth with key players playing a huge role. Late in the game 8 time All-Star and Defensive Player of the year, Dikembe Mutombo went down with a knee injury ending his 18 year career in the NBA. The series is even and heads to Houston for game 3.

The Dwayne Wade’s Show

An MJ moment took place down in Miami when the Heat faced off against D. Ross and the Chicago Bulls. Wade went for 48 points, 12 assist, 4 steals and a win against the Bulls. The game went into two overtimes but came to an end when Wade stole the ball from Jason Salmon with 3 seconds left and then made an unbelievable running 3 pointer to win the game.  This game was priceless.

The New York stars were out at Madison Square Garden last night to watch Kobe Bryant and the Lakers and NOT the Knicks. Kobe took over the spotlight as usual when he goes to big cities like NYC.  With no help from his young big man Andrew Bynum. Kobe put the Lakers on his back and said, “roll with me,” as they defeated the Knicks 126 to 117. The Garden’s record book was broken last night with 61 points by the electrifying Kobe Bryant. He officially passed Micheal Jordan(55) and Bernard King(60) with the most points scored in the Garden.

Something Special!

Andrew Bynum scored a career high 42 points against the LA Clippers. Like I mentioned to the sports world in my last blog Andrew Bynum of the Los Angles Lakers will be the key to the Lakers getting back to the NBA Finals and possibly winning the series. Bynum scored a career high 42 points against their hometown rivals the Los Angles Clippers. The 21 year old kid continues to show the city of LA that he was truly the missing link to the Lakers starting lineup. Read more

Kobe & LeBron were not the guys to watch!

With less than two minutes into the game Kobe dislocated his ring finger trying to guard LeBron James (FYI….Kobe your defending a MAN Child). TNT definitely fooled me, I thought I was going to see a Magic versus Bird match up in the Staple Center. Read more

Two of the best teams will face off once again to claim who is the favorite to win the NBA Finals. (Picture from ESPN)

Big games today in the NBA. Two of the best teams will face off once again to claim who is the favorite to win the NBA Finals. Kobe and the Lakers will have to man up against the beast of the east Celtics. Mr. Garnett and his crew will have enough pressure, not because of playing on Christmas Day but with trying to uphold the best record in the league. If sports writers say this is the NBA Finals game today then I will definitely be watching it with family. Read more
